We have a legacy Access database originally It has run under versions of Access and I just purchased MS Office with Access. My concern is the database not running with Office Access more of a red Access icon versus the Access or not sure maroon colored Access icon. Rewrite or upgrade the application instead? Scottgem MVP. You are using a feature called replication which has been deprecated. If you can find a copy of an earlier version, you can install it in a VM, open the db and remove the replication feature. Most databases will run in , but might require some tweaking.

When you get access to the VLSC, you will see various download options for the different Office versions and the associated product keys for that version – you can usually always downgrade to the previous version.

I am relatively new to the VLSC, but from what I have seen, there are different product keys for different versions. So, you will need to get int to the VLSC and obtain the product key and if necessary download Open license allows downgrade to any previous version, some keys and media are given in VLSC but if they aren’t, you can use any other keys and media you have. What MS care about is that you are licensed appropriately, so you can even reuse keys from old licenses in your organisation.

I called them once about needing Office on a very old machine because they had no keys, the advice I was given was “Use any key you like, we don’t care what the key is, only that you have the license”. This topic has been locked by an administrator and is no longer open for commenting.
